Mike Middleton is a former professional American football Safety in the National Football League. He was selected by the Dallas Cowboys in the third round (84th overall) of the 1993 NFL Draft. He played college football for Indiana University. ==Early years== Middleton played running back at Western Hills High School. As a senior he registered 1,620 rushing yards, 20 touchdowns and had a 250-yard, 6-touchdown game against Western Hills High School. He also practiced track and field. He accepted a scholarship to Indiana University with the plan of being converted to cornerback. He became a four-year starter at the position, after being redshirted as a freshman, with an ankle injury he suffered in the Ohio All-Star game. As a sophomore he experienced a muscle spasm in the walls of his heart and as a senior he was diagnosed with mononucleosis, which were the only instances when he had to miss games in his college career. He practiced track and field as a senior.
